Chain in the air means to draw a loop of yarn through the loop on the hook without inserting the hook in a stitch.
Yarn over means to wrap the yarn around the hook
Frog: in crochet language, for some weird reason, it means to unravel, to unmake.

3 things to know about half double crochet stitch:
A half double crochet stitch (hdc) creates a solid fabric that has a better drape than a single crochet.
It stands in between a single crochet and a double crochet (which you will learn tomorrow) in terms of height.
The symbol for a half double crochet is a vertical line with a horizontal bar at the top. Like a letter T.
