From freelancer to artist, while having a regular job
Your path to your goals is unpredictable and mysterious.
For the last +2.5 years I was playing around with the idea of becoming a content creator, a freelancer, a writer and a crafty guru, all at once.
Yes, I wanted, and still want to make money out from the digital platforms.
I want the freedom and money to travel back and forth to my home countries.
In a more personal side here is my little story:
Two years ago my immigration process was just starting. Meanwhile I couldn’t legally work in Canada.
The only way for me to make some money was through freelancing in Upwork and Fiverr, and becoming a well-paid contet creator.
-Hence my urgence to make things work.
Now that Canada has become my second home, I feel nothing more but freedom.
Now I can do whatever I want to do because I no longer have the necesity, nor urgency to make it happen.
In my list of the things I don’t regret but rather don’t do it again, I should add freelancning in these platforms.
Although I made money on Upwork and Fiverr, I wouldn’t do it again.

My thoughts on Upwork and Fiverr are divided. On one hand I think it can deffitently add up to the economy of a person. Like myself not too long ago.
However, I think that talented people can do better than trying to make a living with these advantageous platforms that takes up to 20% of your income as a freelancer.
Yes, TWENY PERCENT!!!!
Now, I am in a better place. My regular job pays the bills while adding up to my content strategy.
That means, I no longer have the necessity to earn from the digital platforms. yeeeeei! I feel so relief.
All the time I wished that when my migration process was completed I could already make a living from the digital platforms but it wasn’t my time, I guess.
I passed from being a digital creator, earnign $5 dollars a month, to get a regular job.
Now I am an artist working in a restaurant. What a cliché
Whatever you are gonna do, do it because it brings joy to your life. -Said my lovely partner.
Now that you don’t HAVE TO make money from the digital platforms, do whatever makes you happy. He said. I usually don’t listen to him but this time I will.
This is how I will persue my dream of becoming a crochet artist!!!! -Don’t worry I will not invade you with crochet content here.
My content here and on Medium will be about how to turn creativity into a business, as this is what I am doing.
Yes, I still want to make a living from monetizing my platforms because I want the freedom and money to travel back and forth to my home countries.
Compared to my self 2.5 years ago, this time I have a plan and a strategy and a major goal I want to persue.
Two and a half years ago I didn’t know what to expect, this time I know and I am ready to GO FOR IT!
Thank you for being here, for your support and for your reading time.
